What Handpick does
Handpick shows the photos in your camera roll one at a time. Swipe down to keep a photo and swipe up to move it to Handpick’s Trash. Beyond sorting, it groups duplicate shots with one suggested to keep, brings screenshots and blurry or blank shots up first, lists the largest photos and videos, and turns trips and memorable days into albums.
Nothing leaves your library until you confirm. Photos you swipe away wait in Trash, iOS asks you to confirm before anything is deleted, and deleted photos stay in Recently Deleted in the Photos app for 30 days.
Who makes it
Handpick is developed by Benjamin Zhuang, the developer named in the Terms of Use. He writes the app, publishes its updates, and reads the support email himself, so a message about Handpick reaches the person who can fix it.
How it is built
Handpick runs on your device with Apple’s own frameworks. Photo analysis, such as finding duplicates or judging whether a photo is blurry, happens on your iPhone or iPad. There is no Handpick server and no account, and the developer never receives your photos, videos, or analysis results. The app has no ads and no third-party analytics or tracking. The Privacy Policy lists everything the app accesses and the one place-name lookup it sends to Apple.
How it is paid for
Sorting, favorites, albums, and Trash are free. Handpick Plus adds Duplicates, Junk first, every trip and memorable day, Large Files, and the preferences in Settings. Plus is a weekly or annual subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. Apple processes every payment, renewal, and refund, and prices are shown in the App Store before you buy. Handpick earns nothing from ads or from data, because it collects none to sell.
Where to get it
Handpick is available on the App Store for iPhone and iPad with iOS 18 or iPadOS 18 or later, in English and Traditional Chinese. There is no Android or web version.
